Our New House

We did it!!! After an offer, a counter offer, and a counter-counter offer, we signed the papers to buy an awesome home. It still seems unreal, this is a big boy decision, and many times we think, did we just make a hundred thousand dollar mistake? But we do feel good about it, and are excited for the wonderful possibilities.

This is the front, prett self explanatory.
Upstairs living room. The textured walls are novel, but we are unsure if we will like them in a couple of years.

Backyard, smaller than we would have liked but we are gonna have some creative fun with it.

Living room downstairs.
The kitchen, it has the electric stove with the cool flat top like josh's mommy.

Master bedroom

This room is for our daughter, oops, did I say too much?

The problem with buying a new home is that we are in charge of repairs. Dusty said that he was nervous to buy a house in case there was a crack in the foundation. I was concerned in case there was a leaking faucet or a light bulh burned out. Who would fix those things?
The other problem is, we have very little furniture. The way it looks right now, we will have three rooms that will be nearly empty. The good news is that each saturday i will be hanging with the kids chilling at yard sales

This is awesomeness. When do you move in? Owning a home is pretty cool, except for the maintenance part (like when a pipe inside the wall bursts). Are you guys thinking about making any big changes to it?

Congrats! It looks wonderful! What a deal too! I don't expect to own a home here in California, EVER. A 900 sq ft fixer-upper is $500,000. But you guys have it good! Hope the move goes well!

We're pondering at this very moment making an offer on our first house . . . it scares the crap out of me. BUT if you can do it, WE can do it! ;) When can we come help you unpack/snoop/visit?? :D

I tried to leave a comment earlier, before you bought the house. It went something like this: "Friends don't let friends buy houses." The ONLY reason I bought a house is because I couldn't rent property in a neighborhood where I would feel comfortable raising my children.

And aren't you excited to sell it for less than you bought it for!

The daughter's bedrooms should be for like 3 or at least 2 daughters. so is your announcement twins?
Love the house and it's making me very jealous! The house looks huge from the front!

Really? Josh's mom has a flat-top? Like the girl in Ghostbusters? When Ray yells, "Aim for the flat-top!" Classic. The movie, not the haircut.

Congratulations!! Owning a house is great. We bought our first right after Ithaca, and are now just putting it up for sell. Brian finishes this May and we are hoping to move to Texas this summer. As for the maintenance part...I hope Josh is a good handy man, because my husbands NOT. Although he tries to be :)
