Interpretive Art

Here is the picture McKay drew of our family at school today. See that giant person there in the middle, the guy who basically takes up the whole page? That's Josh. I don't think you need to be a psychologist trained in subjective interpretation techniques to figure out that he is not only the focal point of McKay's drawing, but also the most important figure in his life (can you believe that in grad school I was seriously trained how to analyze and score child drawings like these as part of my assessment class?) That other blue person there, sort of in the background, covered by McKay's 7-fingered hand - well, that's me.

(Also, this particular work of art has obviously been influenced greatly by Lego Star Wars mini figures. Note the rectangular lego legs and waist on both Josh and I, as well as my indeterminate gender).
