Spring Break

Spring Break week went out with a bang as I busted out a 13-miler at the Grasslands half-marathon trail run. I didn't do it very fast (as usual) - about 2 hrs 20 min - but I did it with my new running peeps, Tiffany & Lindsey, so that was fun.
A little TMI: I almost dropped out of the race at Mile 2 because I was seriously out of energy & I just didn't feel like I could make it any farther. I blame it on the fact that I had pumped out a ton of milk (and all of my pre-race calories with it) before I ran to be more "comfortable" since Spencer wasn't there to nurse. Luckily, I had a package of emergency Star Wars fruit snacks on hand, so that saved me. I knew McKay's obsession with Obi -Wan Kenobi would pay off sooner or later.
Earlier in the week we enjoyed the ultimate family Staycation in our backyard with a $9 slip-n-slide. The box said anyone under 5'0 could safely slide, so I even got to show off my sweet moves for the kids. They were impressed and they now think I am Ahsoka (she's a girl Jedi. I was kind of hoping for Princess Leia, but whatevs).

Fun pictures! How fun it will be to have a garden! What can you grow since it's so hot there in the summer? Do we get to see some new house pictures?

good for you for running a half...and I'm glad you've found new running partners (especially because I fizzled out you in Ithaca)--I do miss those days though (at least the running with you part)
