Eagle Mountain (Texas Style)

When Kelli told us of a place called Eagle Mountain, I thought this might be worth it to go along with her idea to have a family hike. Mind you, in Texas some words carry different meanings. Such as "all ya'll," which refers to second person plural. The other word, mountain, means something that is not completely flat. For Eagle Mountain is not a mountain, but an area next to a lake that is not completely flat.

Turns out, we are okay with that. There was a list of all the animals we might see. While we didn't see anything that was living and moving, the fact that we could see an armadillo - was totally awesome.

Within two weeks we had 5 days cancelled of school due to ice and snow, so even though it was a spring-like 60 degrees, the ground was really saturated. So much that it became near impossible to push our jogging stroller down the trail (you can see our ruts in the background). I guess you could say this was our pioneer experience.

Spencer loved chilling on Kelli's back.

After a failed attempt to reach the water via foot, we took the road. Found a little marina, after much discussion on the best way to get to waterfront (read arguement), and had our little picnic. McKay and Matthew enjoyed running on the docks. After this visit, we are now in the market for a boat.
