Keeping up with the Jones'

We spend a day going to the Church historical sites near Palmyra. We finally made it to the Whitmer Home, where the church was official organized in 1830 with only 6 members. McKay really wanted to get a sense of what it would be like to have a bed. So we let him sleep on this bed and he has been very appreciated of his crib ever since.

Outside the home McKay wanted to learn how to pounce. So call me Mufasa, I taught him how to pounce. He did a very good job.

Here is the whole family outside the Whitmer home.

We then went to the Hill Cumorah. McKay had trains on his mind. If I remember right, mommy was thomas, McKay was Annie or Clarabel, grandma was bill or ben, and grandpa was Toby. (The names where given by McKay based on the colors of clothes)

At the top, McKay was not the most interested in the monument of the Angel Moroni. Instead his interest was captured by a caterpillar. He had so much fun with it, untill he saw...

A cat. Who loses a cat at the top of the Hill Cumorah? Or is it a guardian cat???

At the Smith Family Farm we declined the tour, and decided to take a look around ourselves. McKay loved being with his grandpa.

I think i may have told McKay that there was some candy at the end of the trail. Not a second later he was off and running, oh the energy of tykes.

One of the temple workers told us that the cat lives up there all summer and then goes down to Zion's Camp for the winters. They call him Moroni. We went up one day and called for Moroni, but he didn't appear. Apparently you can't lure Moroni to show himself even with promises of tuna fish.
