McKay has anxiously been awaiting this day, as a result he is too excited to sleep at night, gets up early in the morning, and gets mad at anyone trying to ruin his plans or play with his toys.
But unlike Christmas, there are no folk tails we can turn to to tell him that bad boys get coal for their birthday. So if someone wants to come to come up with one, I might recommend that bad boys get mismatched socks for their birthday (we seem to have a lot of them around the house).
It was very gratifying as parents to see how excited he got over his birthday. By turning six, this is the one time in his life where he will be twice as old as Matthew. To celebrate, we had cake made by Josh (even though it came from a box, Kelli does a better job and making baked goods taste good).
Kids were excited!!!
