I have heard tall tales of a lizard shedding its tail as a defense mechanism. I might have even read it in the world book encyclopedia (which was was better than encyclopedia britanica because it had more colorful pictures). It ranks right up there with the legend that a chicken will keep on running after you cut its head off. So here at Mythbusters, McKay went our to prove this tale true...and sure enough it is.
