The Kitchen sink and Winston Ct maintenance

A little over a week ago we started to notice that our kitchen sink was not draining. So Josh lowered his pants and crawled under the sink to check it out. He pulled out the trap only to find...nothing. It was clear, so that meant that whatever was clogging up our sink was further in. Not a job for Josh, so we dialed our local helpful landlord.

Brandi answered the phone, now normally when she does I hang up and try again. Hoping that Melanie answers. (my dislike for Brandi began when we first started to look at moving to winston ct and I asked her if the apartments were different, she said that each bottom floor apartment was exactly the same. Melanie showed me different. Then Brandi was quite rude when Kelli requested a maintenance request on the washer/dryer.) Needless to say I was not too excited that Brandi answered, but i thought i would put the maintenance request with her anyways. "Kitchen sink clogged, needs repairs"

Two days past and our sink was still clogged, so i called after hours and left a rather direct message. The next day maintenance showed up to "fix" it. They worked on it throughout the day and at night, the guy said "i will be back tomorrow but you can use it tonight." What he failed to mention was "at your own risk." We started washing the dishes and water started to pour out from under the sink.

Another guy showed up, after calling the emergency maintenance line, and he was in disbelief about the state of the pipes. One had a whole and one joint was not even connected. So he "taped the [heck] out of it." It didn't leak, but the sink was full of water.

The next morning two maintenance guys showed up to "fix" the sink. This time they actaully did, or at least it appears to be fixed. But their boneheaded play of the day came from where they disposed of the dirty sink water that filled up their buckets. That's right, the nearest patch of grass, which happens to be right outside our front door. Within two days the grass has died and there are nasty little foreign objects lurking in the brown blades of grass.

So of course I called the office, and Brandi answered. I told her what had happened and her response was, there's not much i can do. No, I'm sorry, no we will go take a look and try to clean it up.

So for all of you who are not a zion card carrying member of the Winston ct community, there are some downsides to living here. I guess the upside to the inability of the maintenance crew to fix things, is that their antics in the laundryroom with the cleaning ladies provides for entertainment and gossip

Wait, what's this about cleaning ladies and maintenance men in the laundry room? Am I reading this wrong?

Talk to Trina - I think she said the same thing happened to their sink and it's because the pipes have the wrong size...something.

That's gross. I don't miss landlords, that's for sure.
How long until you guys are out of there?

That sure was a poor level of work indeed, killing the grass in the progress. When I was starting up in Minneapolis, I also had a problem in my kitchen due to the clogged pipes on the sink. Luckily, having a lot of friends there, they've recommended me someone who is skillful in the field of plumbing. Minneapolis, being a big place, Is where most of my friends live so they were able to help me out real quick.

Having solved the problems on plumbing, Minnesota plumbers did the best job!
