1. There are no metro buses, so do not wait late at night waiting for one. Because you might be waiting a long time (except in Puente Alto, the Metrobus 80 still runs).
2. You can do anything with a Bip card. It is designed to pay for micro and metros, but this little card has the ability to solve world hunger, well almost. (I still have 350 pesos on my bip card)
3. Metro is amazing, you can get to anywhere really fast, but it also will convert you into the smelly kid. Cramming that many people in that little space at the high of a temperature is no bueno. But it is fast.
4. Pato malo is so 2001, the new word for trouble makers is fleiti, or at least i think that is how it is spelled. (do not get this mixed up with fleto, different meaning)
5. Sunburns in January are awesome
6. The atrocity of inflation is seen in the sales of ice cream, they are now 150 pesos instead of 100. I have been practicing my sales pitch and saying gamba is so much more fluid than saying ciento cincuenta. Mustangs are 250 now.
7. Pan de hallulla is much better than maraquet.
8. sopaipillas and empanadas from the street are absolutely amazing.
8. Each night the streets of downtown santiago are littered with trash, but when you wake up in the morning they are all clean. Kind of cool
9. Walmart just bought Lider, except that Lider greeters have teeth. (counter intuitive)
10. People still don't believe i am from northern chile.
