Might as well catch all the major holidays while I'm updating.
So... for the Christmas tree story. For the past few years we have been using this fake, flimsy, wonderful and convenient $15 Wal-Mart tree. This year it fell down (or was pushed down) several times the first day we put it up, so we decided to get rid of it and opt for a real tree instead. Josh and I both grew up with nothing but real trees each Christmas, so imagine our excitement when we got to go out together this week and choose out our REAL Christmas tree, along with a sturdy stand that could withstand the brawn of our two growing boys. Then imagine my horror today when as I was in the kitchen making dinner I heard a huge crash (or, rather, multiple small crashes as would be made by, say, several beautiful and irreplaceable ornaments being crushed all at once). I ran into the room and saw Matthew standing innocently on the arm of the couch, right where the top of the tree used to be. The tree was lying on its side on the floor. Then imagine my further horror as I tried to pick the tree back up (btw, real trees are far heavier and more awkward to lift than fake trees) and McKay came running from the kitchen into the living room yelling, "Mom, there's a big fire in the kitchen." (If you've looked at the Thanksgiving post already, I guess I don't need to remind you of my lack of cooking finesse). Needless to say, I think next year we'll go one step further and just pin up a cute picture of a tree instead.

You and your boys are so cute! Who would know that a tree could cause so much trouble!
You guys will never forget that tree that's for sure! Happy Holidays!
The real tree does look beautiful! It was a nice upgrade! Glad that your kitchen fire didn't burn down your house!
I remember the year when Scott and Madeline broke almost all our ornaments from pushing down the tree so many times. Luckily, we never had to deal with a kitchen fire along with it.:)
