Our Christmas Card

We sent out our Christmas cards mainly to just family this year, but we thought everyone else might like to see the cards as well. So here it is:

5th Annual Price Family Christmas Newsletter
Dear Friends & Family:

2008 has been an awesome year for the Price family. So, here is a recap for all those who live too far away to keep close tabs or who are too old to remember such details for a whole year.
We started out 2008 with one last free trip to St. George before McKay turned 2 in January. McKay finally began speaking there & hasn’t stopped since. In May, we were blessed with the birth of Matthew. Kelli’s pregnancy with him was pretty uneventful & he came out quickly & easily. He is seven months old now & has continued to be quite the easygoing little guy. McKay, on the other hand, hit his “terrible 2’s” full force around the time Matthew was born. We have had some good times in the time out chair this year. But for all his normal pushing of the limits, McKay has accomplished several amazing feats in 2008: he potty trained himself in a week, figured out how to jump & go down slides, ate his first pickle, learned how to turn the couch into a fort, & began putting together 60 piece puzzles. He is one amazing kid. Matthew, too, has many talents: he has successfully avoided every bite of food I have tried to get into him by a quick whip of the head or snapping shut of the lips, has miraculously survived 7 months of living with an older brother who gets kicked out of nursery each week for hurting other kids, can singlehandedly knock all items within a 3 foot radius of his Bumbo seat off the table, & can scoot across the room on his belly given the proper motivation (newspaper, plastic baggie, or electrical cord). He is really a sweetheart – very cuddly & happy.
The summer of 2008 was full of weddings – we went to Oregon for Katie’s (Josh’s sister) wedding, and then to St. George again for Doni’s (Kelli’s sister) wedding. Both weddings were fun and the cousins, cakes, & chocolate fountains were thoroughly enjoyed by the boys. It was so nice to hang out with our families. In August, we moved out of our sorority house and said good-bye to free room & board. We moved to the Winston Court apartments, which are full of poor Mormon students with kids like us. We have really enjoyed living here even though now we have to cook our own meals & wash our own dishes.
In August Josh also started classes again at Cornell (he is still working towards his PhD in Policy Analysis & Management) and in September Kelli went back to work as a Mental Health Consultant for Head Start a few hours a week. In October, we found out that Josh got a job as a Visiting Professor at BYU next summer, so we are excited for that & are already making plans to move to Utah for the summer. November was the month of professional conferences for Josh. He spent the month traveling from Louisiana, to Boston, to Washington D.C. presenting research. Luckily, his conferences did not get in the way of his claiming intramural sports victories 4 times (for football, softball, and basketball). We are going to have to buy a new dresser for all the intramural shirts we have collected at Cornell.
Well, that’s about it for our recap. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009!
Love,
Josh, Kelli, McKay, & Matthew
